LYMPHANGIOMA
Dilated lymph channels. They can occur in the neck and cause some mass effect or airway obstruction from their size. Usually present in children or young adults. Can be treated with surgery if isolated and simple.
MANDIBLE
The jaw bone.
MANDIBULAR ABSCESS
A collection of pus or infection coming from the mandible or jaw bone.
MASTOIDITIS
An infection or inflammation of the mastoid air cells.
MASTOIDS
Air containing structure behind the ears that can get infected and full of fluid.
MINOR SALIVARY GLAND
Small salivary gland of the neck. The parotid and submandibular glands are considered the “major” salivary glands.
MINOR SALIVARY GLAND MALIGNANCY
A rare, aggressive, and malignant tumor arising from the minor salivary glands. Treatment usually requires surgery, chemotherapy, and/or radiation.
MORPHOLOGY
The appearance of a finding.
MUCOCELE
A mucous filled structure in the sinuses of the face. Usually results from a blockage. They can expand and cause symptoms of infection. They occur most commonly in adults. Usually surgery is needed to remove them.
NASAL SEPTUM
A thin piece of bone in the middle of the nasal cavity.
