GALACTOCELE

A cyst containing milk. It can be caused by dried out milk blocking a milk duct. It is usually seen in young women who are breast feeding.

GANGLION

A type of cell found in the brain or spinal cord.

GANGLIONIC

Referring to a process related to the ganglion cells.

GANGRENOUS

Dying of tissue in our body from lack of blood flow or severe infection. Can be a serious complication of infection.

GASTROSTOMY

A hole in the stomach created by a doctor. Having access to the stomach from outside of the body, usually with a tube. Gastrostomy can be used to drain stomach liquid or for tube feeding.

GEOGRAPHIC

Something that has well-defined borders. For example, a “geographic liver mass” means a liver mass that has distinct and well-defined borders.

Sac of water that contains fetus/ baby.

Ghon focus plus enlarged hilar lymph nodes.

GHON FOCUS

A white area in the lung (on a chest x-ray) that is associated with primary tuberculosis.

GLENOHUMERAL

Shoulder join where glenoid (shoulder socket) meets the humerus (long bone in the upper arm).
