PAPILLOMATOSIS
A condition where there are many papillomas. This condition results in increased risk for cancer.
PARAGANGLIOMA
An abnormal collection of blood vessels in the neck. If too big or causing symptoms, it can be treated. They can be located anywhere from the ear drum, along the jugular, or at the carotid artery.
PARAMEDIASTINAL
Adjective. It means to be located just next to the mediastinum.
PARAPELVIC
“Around or near” the pelvis (central part) of the kidney.
PARAVERTEBRAL
Located next to the vertebra or spine. Often referred to as the “paravertebral space”.
PARENCHYMA
Brain substance or brain tissue.
PARIETAL
Of or referring to the parietal lobe.
PARIETAL LOBE
The part of the brain located near the top/back of the head.
PARIETAL PLEURA
Inner lining of the chest cavity. Please see “pleura”.
PARIETO-OCCIPITAL
The portion of the brain that includes both the parietal and occipital lobes.
