NEUROFIBROMATOSIS

A disease affecting the nerve tissue of the brain or spinal cord.

NEUROGENIC

Of or referring to the neuron or brain.

NEUROHYPOPHYSIS

The back part of the pituitary gland.

NEUROMA

A tumor related to the nerve cells.  In the brain they are referred to as acoustic neuromas and occur in the CPA or cerebello-pontine angle.  They are also called vestibular schwanommas and cause symptoms related to hearing loss.

The brain cell.

Of or referring to the neuron or brain.  This can also be called “neural”.

NG TUBE (NASOGASTRIC TUBE)

A tube placed through the nostril and “snaked” into the stomach via the esophagus.  Nostril –> Esophagus –> Stomach.  This tube is used to suck out fluid from the stomach.  It can also be used to “feed” the patient by pumping a nutrient liquid through the tube, into the stomach.

NIPPLE MARKERS

Metallic BBs that are placed on the nipples to help the radiologist distinguish a nipple shadow from a lung mass.
