HEPATIC

Anything related to the liver.

HEPATITIS

Infection/inflammation of the liver. Can be acute (relatively new/recent) or chronic (long-standing or old).

HEPATOCELLULAR

Anything related to the liver.

HEPATOCELLULAR CARCINOMA (HCC)

Cancer of the liver. More commonly seen in people with cirrhosis (“sick” liver).

Enlarged liver.

HER2 (HUMAN EPIDERMAL GROWTH FACTOR RECEPTOR 2)

This is a protein receptor that may be associated with breast cancer. If a breast cancer is HER2 positive, anti-HER2 treatments can be used to stop the growth of the cancer cells.

HERNIA

Bulging outside of its normal position.

HERNIA (chest)

Bulging beyond the normal boundaries.  This is usually caused by a defect (hole) in a normal anatomic structure.  For example, a Bockdalek hernia occurs when there is a defect in the diaphragm with abdominal fat (or organs) bulging into the chest.
