FOCAL NODULAR HYPERPLASIA

Common “growth” in the liver that is not cancerous.

FORAMEN MAGNUM

The largest opening of the base of the skull where the spinal cord goes through.

FORAMEN OF LUSCHKA

A small opening or passage in the back of the brain where CSF can exit the fourth ventricle and spill into the spinal cord.  It is a normal structure.

FORAMEN OF MEGENDIE

A small opening or passage in the back of the brain where CSF can exit the fourth ventricle and spill into the spinal cord.  It is a normal structure.

FORAMINAL DISC HERNIATION

The disc is directed towards the side of the spine where the nerve roots exit the spinal canal.  A disc in this location will cause a “radiculopathy” or a shooting, electric pain or sensation down the body or extremity.

FORNIX

A portion of the corpus callosum.  It is a normal anatomical structure.

FOSSA OF ROSENMULLER

An atomic space in the back of the throat that can be a location for cancer. Often the ear, nose and throat doctor can see tumors in this location but a CAT scan can look for even deeper signs of disease.

FOURTH VENTRICLE

The piece of the ventricle located in the middle of the cerebellum.  It communicates with the third ventricle and helps push cerebral spinal fluid or “CSF” into the spinal canal.
