CAPILLARY TELENGECTASIA

Is a type of vascular anomaly or “malformation” that consists of a tangle of blood vessels.  They usually occur in the brain stem or “pons” and are usually of no consequence.

CAPSULE

A scar-like covering that forms around a breast implant. This is the result of a normal body reaction to the breast implant.

Cancer.

CARDIAC SILHOUETTE

White outline of the heart on a chest x-ray.

CARDIOMEDIASTINAL SILHOUETTE

A white area in the middle of the chest on a chest x-ray.  It represents the heart and other mediastinal structures (i.e. large blood vessels, lymph nodes).  The cardiac silhouette is a part of the cardiomedistinal silhouette.  It is the bottom part of the cardiomediastinal silhouette.

Enlarged heart.

The lower inner corners of the lungs.

Branching point of the trachea where it splits into the 2 mainstem bronchi.

CARPAL

Small bones making up our wrist.

CARTILAGE

Flexible material found in the joints and some other parts of the body like ears.
