FOREIGN BODY
Anything that is not part of our body. For example, a bullet fragment in the body is considered a foreign body.
FRACTURE
Broken bone.
GEOGRAPHIC
Something that has well-defined borders. For example, a “geographic liver mass” means a liver mass that has distinct and well-defined borders.
GLENOHUMERAL
Shoulder join where glenoid (shoulder socket) meets the humerus (long bone in the upper arm).
GLENOID
“Socket” of the shoulder.
GREATER TROCHANTER
Outer edge of the hip/upper thigh bone.
HEMANGIOMA
Noncancerous growth consisting of a tangle of tiny blood vessels. Is usually of no consequence and does not cause symptoms unless they get really large.
HEMATOMA
A pocket of blood. This can be caused by trauma.
HEMORRHAGE
Bleeding.
HETEROTOPIC OSSIFICATION
Bone formation where bones are usually not present. Typically refers to abnormal bone growth within soft tissue. Can be a cause of pain.
