PERCUTANEOUS LUNG BIOPSY
Biopsy technique that involves sampling a lung mass by inserting a needle through the skin. The 2 types of percutaneous lung biopsies are 1) Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA) and 2) Core Needle biopsy.
PERFUSION
Blood flow to something.
PERICARDIAL
Anything related to pericardium (see below).
PERICARDIAL EFFUSION
Fluid inside the sac containing the heart.
PERIOSTEAL
Around the edge of the bone.
PERITONEUM
Think of them as a sac that outlines and contains our abdominal organs and structures. Inner lining of the abdominal cavity.
PERITONSILAR ABSCESS
A tonsilar abscess that spreads to the surrounding tissues. It may be harder for your doctor to drain if it is located deep in the neck.
PERIUMBILICAL
Near the belly button.
PERIUMBILICAL HERNIA
Hernia (bulge) near the belly button.
PERIVASCULAR SPACE
A normal structure in the brain. It is normal fluid that wraps around a blood vessel. A Perivascular space is also known as a Virchow-Robin space.
