MYOSITIS OSSIFICANS
Bone formation within muscle after an injury to the muscle. This can be a source of muscle pain.
NASAL SEPTUM
A thin piece of bone in the middle of the nasal cavity.
NASAL SEPTUM DEVIATION
The bone in the middle of the nasal cavity is deviated, or "bent", to one side.
NASAL SEPTUM SPUR
A bony outpouching arising from the middle of the nose that can impinge, or "push", on the nasal tissue and cause problems with breathing.
NASOPHARYNX
Located in the back of the mouth where the tissues of the nose and mouth meet. It joins the esophagus, or swallowing tube, that leads to the stomach.
NECROSIS
Tissue death, often from lack of blood supply (ischemia).
NECROTIC
Becoming pus-like, often from infection or cancer. For example, necrotic lymph node is a lymph node that has fluid or pus in the center.
NECROTIC LYMPH NODE
A lymph node that has fluid or pus in it's center. It can be related to infection or cancer.
NEEDLE (OR WIRE) LOCALIZATION
A procedure used to "mark" the abnormality before surgery. This helps the surgeon to precisely "cut out" the abnormality.
