
GYRUS
The surface of the brain that looks like cauliflower.

HAMARTOMA
Non-cancerous tumor that contains normal breast tissue. Sometimes it is described as "breast within a breast".

HAMPTON’S HUMP
A rounded white area at the bottom of the lung(s) on a chest x-ray. It represents “dying” lung tissue due to lack of oxygen. This is seen in pulmonary embolism.

HEMANGIOMA
Noncancerous growth consisting of a tangle of tiny blood vessels. Is usually of no consequence and does not cause symptoms unless they get really large.

HEMANGIOPERICYTOMA
A rare tumor that arises on the covering of the brain.

HEMATOMA
A pocket of blood. This can be caused by trauma.

HEMATOMA (breast)
A pocket of blood. This can be caused by any trauma or biopsy or surgical procedure to the breast.

HEMIDIAPHRAGM
"Half" of a diaphragm. A diaphragm is made up of the right hemidiaphragm and the left hemidiaphragm.

HEMORRAGE
Bleeding or blood.

HEMORRAGIC
Refers to bleeding or blood.
